War of the Worlds
Dec. 15th, 2003 11:04 amOne of my other fave pieces of musical
theater is the 1978 production of Jeff
Wayne's War of the Worlds. I've also been
listening to it a fair bit of late; anyway, on the
way into the office this morning, it occurred
to me that Patrick Stewart has the same sort
of Royal Shakespearean Company voicing
that Richard Burton used for the voice work
on WotW, and it might be really interesting
to swap Stewart in for Burton on the same
production.
Hmmm. What do I need to do this? Well, I
need a voice audio production lab, that's
used for digitally manipulating audio samples
to produce clean generated voice, and I need
access to some voice geeks who know more
about how voice works than I do, and I need
the computing infrastructure and software
that's already doing something like this.
Where would I find something like that?
Oh, wait! I could always talk to some of
the voice geeks here at Tellme.
Now I just need to find out what Patrick
Stewart productions I need to sample.
