The bailout bill has gone down in the House, at least on the first vote. [Disclosure: I'm strongly in favor of some sort of Federal action; the bill that just went down was flawed in a number of ways, but nothing catastrophic; it would have been much better than nothing, even with the SEC being allowed to end mark-to-market accounting, which would have been unfortunate].

Meanwhile, folks in the Conservative press are starting to say 'Y'Know, maybe we're not so thrilled with this whole Palin-one-heartbeat-away thing...'
