Last nigth, an old acquaintance (Leigh Ann Hussey,
motogrrl) was killed in a motorcycle accident on 580 in Oakland.
She was a wonderful musician, I haven't listened to any of her music in a few months, but was looking at dat tapes of some of her concerts just the other day, and at two of her cds just last night. (I now find out that last night when I was wondering how things were with her and hers of late, she'd been dead for an hour. That is very strange).
She was also very active in the Berkeley pagan community for a while, and (on a somewhat unrelated note) if memory serves performed the ceremony at several of my friend's weddings.
She will be greatly missed.

Date: 2006-05-17 06:02 pm (UTC)Here's a story about Leigh Ann I'd like to share.
In 1985 when I was Editorial Director of Weird Tales magazine,
I selected one of her stories from the slush pile to be published
in the third issue of Volume 49. Alas, it was not to be; only
two issues were ever published.
Several years later, after moving to the Bay Area, I met her in
person, and got to joke with her about buying her story in
order to not publish it or pay her. It was a good story, and I
hope she got it published elsewhere.
