Oh, that's hard - I'd want to record it naturally, because I'd want to listen to a performance that had amazing bass. That said, I'd be tempted to push the bass up in the mix if the recording didn't do the piece or the performance justice - at that point it's no longer purely a recording of a work of art, but a separate work unto itself, and on that basis it's a fine thing.
I was goign to ask about that. I just find it amusing that somewhere around 6 minutes, Keith apparently gets bored (in the live version that I have) and goes noodling off into the hinterlands with Greg and Carl following at breakneck speed.
